1. About this Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Documintly uses cookies and similar technologies on our marketing website at documintly.com and our application at app.documintly.com.

Documintly is an all-in-one document workspace for editing PDFs, signing documents, creating invoices, managing clients, generating QR codes, using templates, securely sharing files, and tracking document or invoice views and downloads.

This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy at documintly.com/privacy.

Documintly is owned and operated by Globe Astral LLC.

By using Documintly with cookies enabled, you agree to our use of cookies and similar technologies as described in this policy and as managed through our cookie consent banner.

2. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website or use an online application. They help websites and apps work properly, remember choices, keep accounts secure, improve performance, and understand how services are used.

Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, software development kits, tracking beacons, and browser-based identifiers. In this policy, references to "cookies" include these similar technologies where they perform a similar function.

3. Categories of Cookies We Use

Documintly uses cookies and similar technologies in the following categories.

Strictly Necessary Cookies

Strictly necessary cookies are required for Documintly to work properly. These cookies cannot be disabled through our cookie banner because they support essential website and app functions.

They may be used for:

  • Keeping users signed in
  • Managing secure sessions
  • Protecting accounts from unauthorized access
  • Supporting authentication and account security
  • Storing your cookie consent decision
  • Processing secure checkout and subscription billing
  • Preventing fraud, spam, bots, abuse, or security threats
  • Enforcing subscription access
  • Supporting private user workspaces
  • Enabling core dashboard, invoice, document, template, QR code, and client-management functionality
  • Supporting controlled share links, view/download tracking, and 30-day trash recovery where these features require essential storage or session handling

Without strictly necessary cookies, Documintly may not function correctly.

Functional Cookies

Functional cookies and similar technologies help Documintly remember choices you make and provide a smoother product experience.

They may be used for:

  • Remembering theme or display preferences
  • Remembering interface preferences such as sidebar, layout, or dismissed notices
  • Remembering non-essential product preferences
  • Improving the experience of document editing, invoice creation, templates, QR code generation, and client-management workflows
  • Supporting optional convenience features inside the app

We only use non-essential functional cookies or storage when you enable Functional cookies, except where a cookie or similar technology is strictly necessary for the service to work.

Analytics Cookies

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors and users interact with Documintly so we can improve the website, application, performance, reliability, and user experience.

Analytics technologies may help us understand:

  • Which pages are visited
  • How visitors move through the website
  • Which features are used
  • General device, browser, and usage patterns
  • Approximate region or traffic source
  • Performance and reliability information
  • How users interact with product areas such as documents, invoices, templates, QR codes, clients, and secure sharing

Analytics cookies are disabled by default and are only enabled if you accept Analytics cookies in our cookie banner.

Where configured, Documintly may use analytics tools such as Vercel Analytics, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or Microsoft Clarity. These tools only run where they are enabled in our deployment and where your consent allows them.

Marketing Cookies

Marketing cookies are used only if marketing, attribution, advertising, or retargeting tools are added to Documintly.

They may be used for:

  • Measuring marketing campaign performance
  • Understanding which campaigns lead users to Documintly
  • Supporting advertising or retargeting where applicable
  • Measuring signups, trial starts, or subscription conversions from marketing campaigns

Marketing cookies are disabled by default and are only enabled if you accept Marketing cookies in our cookie banner.

If Documintly does not have marketing or retargeting tools enabled, this category may remain inactive.

5. Third-Party Cookies and Services

Some cookies or similar technologies may be set by third parties when their services are used on our website or app.

Stripe

Documintly uses Stripe for secure payments and subscription billing. Stripe may set cookies or use similar technologies when you start checkout, manage billing, pay for a subscription, or when Stripe performs fraud-prevention and payment-security checks.

Stripe cookies are governed by Stripe's own cookie and privacy policies.

Google

Where Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or advertising-related tags are configured, Google may set cookies depending on your consent choices.

Documintly may use Google Consent Mode so that Google-related tags respect your cookie preferences.

Vercel

Where Vercel Analytics is enabled, Vercel may process analytics information to help us understand website or app performance and usage. Vercel Analytics is treated as an Analytics category tool and is only enabled where Analytics consent allows it.

Microsoft Clarity

Where Microsoft Clarity is enabled, it may set analytics cookies to help us understand how visitors interact with Documintly. Clarity only runs where it is enabled in our deployment and where Analytics consent has been accepted.

Security and Anti-Abuse Providers

Documintly may use security tools, including bot protection or CAPTCHA-like verification, to protect login, signup, forms, accounts, billing flows, and shared-link access. These technologies may use strictly necessary cookies or similar storage for security purposes.

Other Services

If Documintly adds other third-party services in the future, such as support chat, customer messaging, embedded media, advertising pixels, or additional analytics tools, we will update this policy where required.

When you first visit Documintly, you may see a cookie consent banner. You can:

  • Accept all cookies
  • Reject all non-essential cookies
  • Customize which categories of cookies you accept

You can change your preferences at any time by clicking Cookie settings in the footer of our website.

Your choices are stored in the documintly_consent cookie for up to 365 days. When this cookie expires, is deleted, or is cleared from your browser, you may be asked to set your preferences again.

If you use both documintly.com and app.documintly.com, your consent preference may be shared across both through the .documintly.com cookie domain.

If you access the app directly without a saved cookie preference, Documintly may treat optional analytics, marketing, and functional cookies as disabled by default until a valid consent choice exists.

7. Browser Settings

You can also manage cookies through your web browser. Most browsers allow you to:

  • View stored cookies
  • Delete some or all cookies
  • Block third-party cookies
  • Block cookies from specific websites
  • Block all cookies

Blocking all cookies may cause parts of Documintly to stop working properly, especially login, billing, subscription access, security, document editing, invoice creation, secure sharing, and dashboard functionality.

You can find cookie settings in commonly used browsers here:

  • Chrome: Google Chrome cookie settings
  • Firefox: Mozilla Firefox cookie settings
  • Safari: Apple Safari cookie settings
  • Edge: Microsoft Edge cookie settings

8. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. There is currently no universally accepted standard for how websites should respond to these signals.

Documintly does not currently respond to Do Not Track browser signals. However, we do honor the cookie choices you make through our cookie consent banner.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time as Documintly evolves, as our use of cookies changes, or as legal requirements change.
